Cold and cloudy and then some rain
Gothenburg was cold today. The metrologists had promised sun, but the sky was cloudy. I should have known. It's Sweden, after all.
I was out in the suburbs to look at an apartment. I might be moving in there in Januar. When I was strolling around in the area I felt something cold on my head. A drop. Then another one. It started to rain. Again.
Today, or rather the night before, was the end of "summer time"; daylight saving. It's depressing to live in a country where you have to reset the clock one hour just to get some light.
I bought myself a handsfree the other day. It must have been made in Sweden, or at least by Swedish specifications. It was a really stupid design; the ear plug keeps falling out of my ear every time I use it. I should probably switch to a Samsung or Motorola, whatever just as long as it isn't from Sweden. Today I use a SonyEricsson, so I shouldn't be surprised that it doesn't work. It's not that I don't like swedes, I'm sure they can make good engineers if they just live somewhere else. But to live and work in this country, with it's climate and weather, would be hard for anyone.
So. I've been reading some blogs from Iraq. That's interesting. Seems like pretty good weather down there, some days up to 50 degrees in the shade. If just the occupation could end and the security situation get better, I might be moving down there for a while, just to test it. Buying myself a small house or rent it wouldn't be to hard, I guess. Prices should be pretty low after the war, wouldn't they? At least until the industry is back on it's feet again. But as long as the electricity is on at least a few hours a day, I would be OK. A good UPS, a computer and a satellite is all I need. Cheap bread and some halal could make a man live a long life.
