The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner

It's pouring down. No, not down, more like horisontally. It's pouring, horisontally. Had a new umbrella, unfolded it for the first time today. It lasted not even half an hour in the west coast weather; had to dump it in a trash can.

Saw a movie today, pretty good one actually. The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, from 1962. About some rebellish guy, sent of to youth prison, who happens to have quite a talent for running.

I haven't been running for the whole weekend, and today I donated some blood so I'm on a strict non-running scheme until tomorrow. I'd better find the time for hitting the tracks then, though, otherwise I'll get crazy. All work and no running makes Jack a dull boy.

See you later, off for now.

Morning run

Had a shitty night. The son wouldn't sleep, so neither couldn't we. Anyhow, went up for a morning run at six. What a morning! Ten degrees, relatively mild. It's been like that for a few days now, after a week of zero degrees. So the weather in Gothenburg is quite nice right now, even though it rains a little now and then.

Then I took a shower and went to school. Half a day of epidemiology, and then a few hours on public health. Now I'm back home, celebrating 10 years with my gf in front of the tv. Tomorrow we'll go out and have some dinner together, while her parents take care of their grandson.

Water over the bridge

Long time ago and so on. Lots of water under the bridge, and - since it's raining - lots and lots of water above it too.

So what's happened since last time? Over a year has passed and I'm beginning to see the end of med school. I'm soon finishing a language course in Spanish and I got married in June. Oh, and I got a son a month ago.

So now I'm a dad, with all the responsibilities that's comes in the package. And with all the joy and proud, too. Ah, and without all the sleep. Apparently babies (although I think they prefer "little people") like to eat. A lot. Our little guy wakes up at least every three hours to get some milk. Maybe I would do the same if my food came in as nice wrapping, but still. Every three hours, even at night? That much eating can't be good for you.

Anyway. Besides being a dad, studying, running and programming, I don't do much nowadays. Haven't been to a punk rock gig since last year. Haven't had a real beer for a few months. Quite depressing, isn't it? Still I'm happy, I have a beautiful wife and a lovely boy. Wouldn't hurt to go to Spatt again, though. I'll be sure to mention it here, if I get there.
